FAQ
Short answers to the common questions.
Is Crepus a mixer?
- No. Crepus v1 does not pool or mix anyone's money. Each payment goes directly from one sender to one fresh address that belongs to the recipient. Sender and amount stay visible, which keeps it close to an ordinary transfer.
Can Crepus take or freeze my funds?
- No. The programs' upgrade authority is revoked, they have no admin instructions, and CrepusPay never holds a balance. The only key that can move money at a stealth address is the one derived from your spending key.
What if I lose my keys?
- Your spending and viewing keys are derived from a signature by your main wallet (Phantom, Solflare, Backpack or a Ledger), so as long as you still control that wallet, the app can rebuild them and rescan every payment.
How do I move tokens from a stealth address that has no SOL?
- On Solana the fee payer does not have to own the account, so the Crepus relayer can pay the fee for your sweep. Senders can also attach a little SOL with a token payment, which CrepusPay forwards untouched.
Can I prove a payment to my accountant or the tax office?
- Yes. Share your viewing key and they can see every payment made to you, without being able to spend anything.
What does it cost?
- A protocol fee of 0.10% of each payment, fixed in the program, plus the normal Solana fee (about 0.000005 SOL). A token payment also opens a token account at the stealth address (about 0.002 SOL rent, returned when it is closed). Half of collected fees buy back and burn $CREPUS.
